Mohammad Haris After Oman Knock: ‘I’ll Do Whatever the Team Needs’

Haris Guides Pakistan to a Winning Start

Pakistan kicked off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a convincing win over Oman in Dubai. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris starred with 66 off 43 balls, helping Pakistan post 160 in their 20 overs.

The innings came at the right time. After Saim Ayub fell for a golden duck in the first over, Haris stepped up at number three and rebuilt the innings alongside Sahibzada Farhan. Their 85-run stand off 64 balls pulled Pakistan out of early trouble.

Mohammad Haris Reflects on His Knock

After the game, Haris admitted the innings felt much-needed.

“Feeling very good. Much-needed innings for me and my side, happy to contribute,” he said.

He also spoke about adjusting to team demands, saying he’s ready to bat anywhere if required.

“Whatever the team needs, I can accommodate. Even if they ask me to bat at 10, I will be happy to do it. That’s what I’ve been doing for the last 5–6 years for Pakistan and in the PSL. The skipper also told us to be aggressive,” Haris explained.

Pakistan’s Bowlers Finish the Job

While defending 160, Pakistan’s bowlers stayed disciplined and clinical, leaving Oman no room to settle. Sufiyan Muqeem (2/7), part-timer Saim Ayub (2/8), and seamer Faheem Ashraf (2/6) picked up two wickets each, as Oman were bowled out for just 67 in 16.4 overs.

India Clash Up Next

For Pakistan, this was the perfect warm-up win. But the real challenge is yet to come — a high-voltage clash against India on Sunday, September 14.

With Haris back in form and the bowling unit looking sharp, Pakistan will hope to carry this momentum into the big game.
