Afghanistan to Host Bangladesh for White-Ball Series in UAE

Exciting Series Ahead

Afghanistan will host Bangladesh for a white-ball series in the UAE after the 2025 Asia Cup.

The tour will include three T20Is and three ODIs. Matches are scheduled from October 2 to 14, 2025.

Series Schedule

T20Is

  • Oct 2 – Sharjah

  • Oct 3 – Sharjah

  • Oct 5 – Sharjah

ODIs

  • Oct 8 – Abu Dhabi

  • Oct 11 – Abu Dhabi

  • Oct 14 – Abu Dhabi

Both teams are in Group B of the Asia Cup with Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Their group match is on September 16 in Abu Dhabi. Only the top two teams from each group will move to the Super Fours stage.

Strengthening Cricketing Ties

The series was originally planned for July 2024 as a full-format tour, but heavy weather conditions and Bangladesh’s crowded schedule forced a reshuffle. As a result, the red-ball games were dropped, and the focus has shifted to white-ball cricket only.

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan said:

“We are proud to host Bangladesh. This tour highlights our strong partnership and commitment to world-class cricket.”

Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury added:

“We look forward to facing Afghanistan. This series shows mutual respect and strengthens our cricketing ties.”

Looking Ahead

Beyond the immediate excitement, this series is a useful tune-up for both sides. With the T20 World Cup 2026 on the horizon, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will see these games as a chance to test combinations, build confidence, and sharpen skills against a quality opponent.
